Michael enlisted in the Navy on 12 August 1970 in the Nuclear Propulsion Field as a Machinist Mate. After his schooling, he was assigned to the USS George Washington SSBN 598. After his obligated service, he transitioned to a 4 year machinist apprenticeship program in upstate NY. He then was recalled to active duty, training reservist onboard ship in Newport, RI.  Michael accepted an appointment to Chief Warrant Officer in 1990 and came to New Jersey.  He retired in Nov 1997 from the US Navy and settled in Spotswood, NJ with his wife, Christine.  He has been a Life member of the VFW since 1994. He is a past District 11 Commander and Post Commander, along with other post positions.
